ORDER:
In the Government Orders first
and second read above, the Government appointed
a High Level Committee to study the various problems
confronted by the Handloom Weavers and submit the
report to Government within a month. Accordingly,
the Committee submitted its report to the Government.
The report contains several recommendations which
were placed before the Cabinet for its consideration.
Based on the decision of the Cabinet, the Hon'ble
Chief Minister announced on 30.04.1998, inter-alia
that a State Level Committee under the Chairmanship
of Minister for Handlooms will be setup to suggest
measures for the development of Handloom Industry.
2. The Government direct that
a State Level Advisory Committee for Handlooms
be accordingly constituted with immediate effect
as indicated below:

3.The State
Level Advisory Committee shall generally
analyse the problems of Handloom weavers
in depth and recommend suitable solutions
to Government. The Committee shall also review
the various schemes of State and Central
Governments,
4.The Committee will have
its Headquarters at Chennai
5.The Committee will meet
once in three months or as often as necessary
6.The committee will be
treated as First Class Committee for the
purpose of Travelling allowances. The Director
of Handlooms and Textiles will be the counter
signing officer for Travelling Allowance
Bill of the non-official members.
7.The Travelling Allowance
of the non-official members of the Committee
and other expenses, if any incurred in
connection with the meetings of the committee
shall be debited to the following head
of account:-

8.The Travelling Allowance
of the Official members should be debited
to the Head of Accounts to which their
pay is debited.
9.This order issues with
the concurrence of Finance Department vide
its U.O.No.355/ADS(RR)/98, Dated 17.06.1998
