ORDER:

In the G.O. first read above, the Government have sanctioned the implementation of New Anna Marumalarchi Thittam in each of the 385 blocks in the State for promotion of Agro based / food processing and other related industries in rural areas to generate rural employment and thereby improve the rural economy. Under this scheme Small Scale Industrial Unit not exceeding five agro based economic activity including processing of horticulture produce, flower extract, coir etc. with minimum capital investment of Rs.20 lakhs would be encouraged.

2. In the 8 th State Level Monitoring Committee Meeting held under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Minister for Finance on 4 th July 2005 it was decided among other things to include Mineral Water activity as an eligible activity under New Anna Marumalarchi Thittam.

3. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce has accordingly sent proposals for inclusion of purified packaged drinking water activity as an eligible activity under New Anna Marumalarchi Thittam by extending the concessions available under New Anna Marumalarchi Thittam so as to promote more industries in the State and to cover the uncovered blocks with projects falling under this category as well.

4. The Government, after careful consideration of the proposal of Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce have decided to accept it. Accordingly they direct that the purified packaged drinking water activity be included in the list of eligible activities under New Anna Marumalarchi Thittam.

5. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O. Note No.54563/Fin (Ind)/2005-1 dated 29.7.2005.
