ORDER:

The Venkatachalapuram Adi Dravider Brick Workers Cottage Industrial Cooperative Society Limited (IND No.502), was registered on 25.3.1960 and started on 26.3.1960. The object of the society is to provide continuous employment to the Adi Dravider member workers thereby uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the members. There are 373 members with paid up share capital of Rs.2,42,256/- which includes Government share participation of Rs.20,000/-. The society produces quality bricks and is working on profit continuously withstanding the stiff competition from private sector.

2. There are 3 kilns in the society. Kiln No.1 and 3 were damaged due to torrential rain. Kiln 2 only is now working. The production capacity of each kiln is 35 lakh bricks per year. The society has now proposed to replace Kiln No.1. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce has stated that if this kiln is replaced by a new one, the production capacity will be doubled and the wastage due to bringing raw bricks to kiln No.2 will be minimised. The cost for replacement of Kiln is estimated at Rs.1,94,100/-. The Adi Dravider members are engaged in the process of bricks manufacturing viz. cutting raw bricks, firing, storing and loading of bricks. This scheme will benefit 100 member families and will pave way to increased wages. The Society has proposed to avail Rs.1.94 Lakh as Government share participation under Part II scheme 2005-2006.

3. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce has therefore requested the Government to sanction a sum of Rs.1.94 lakh as State Government share participation to the society under Part II Scheme 2005-06.

4. The Government have examined the proposal of the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce mentioned at para 3 above and decided to accept it.

5. Sanction is accorded for incurring an expenditure not exceeding Rs.1.94 lakhs (Rupees one lakh and ninety four thousand only) towards State Government share participation in the Trichy District Venkatachalapuram Adi Dravider Brick Workers Cottage Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd.

7. The expenditure sanctioned in para 5 above shall be debited to the head of account

4851-00- Capital outlay on Village and Small Industries – 195 investment in cooperatives – Scheme in the Tenth Five Year Plan – II State Plan – JB share participation for construction of New kiln to Venkatachalapuram Harijan Brick Works Cottage Industrial Cooperative Society Ltd. 22 investments. 8. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries and Commerce is authorised to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in para 5 above to the society.

9. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its UO No.33135/05-1 Finance (Ind) dated 6.5.2005.
