Small Industries - Announcement made on the Floor of the House – State Level Review Committee to review the flow of benefits and concessions granted to Small Scale Units – Constituted – Orders issued.

ORDER:

The Minister (Rural Industries) while moving the Demand No.42 – Small Industries, in the Legislative Assembly on 24 th March, 2005, among other things, made the following announcement:-

The Government have announced several concessions and subsidies for the development of Small & Tiny Industries. To review whether the concessions granted to the Small and Tiny Industries reach them, a committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of Secretary to Government, Small Industries Department, with representation from the Government Departments concerned, Banks, Officials of the State and Central Governments as members. The Committee will ensure that the concessions granted to Small Scale units reach them.

2. Based on the above announcement, the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries & Commerce sent proposals in the letter read above, for constitution of State Level Review Committee .

3. The Government accept the proposal of the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries & Commerce and constitute the State Level Review Committee as detailed below:

Chairman - Secretary, Small Industries Department.

Convenor - Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries & Commerce

Members - 

(1) Chief Executive Officer, Khadi & Village Industries Board

(2) Commissioner, Agri-Marketing & Agri-Business

(3) Managing Director, Small Industries Development Corporation Limited.

(4) Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Industrial Investment Corporation Ltd.

(5) Deputy General Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Chennai.

(6) Convenor, State Level Bankers' Committee (Indian Overseas Bank, Chennai)

(7) Deputy General Manager, Small Industries Development Bank of India.

(8) Director, Small Industries Services Institute, Chennai.

(9) Regional Officer, Coir Board, Pollachi.

(10) Assistant Director, National Horticulture Board.

Special Invitees may be decided by the Chairman of the Committee depending upon the nature of subject taken up for discussion.

4. The State Level Review Committee will meet once in three months to redress the grievances of the Small and Tiny industries and ensure that various concessions and subsidies reach them in full and in time.

5. The General Managers of the District Industries Centres concerned (Regional Joint Director in the case of Chennai District) will collect the grievances/problems of tiny / SSI Units in availing the subsidies and concessions granted by the State and Central Governments and furnish the details to the Convenor of the Review Committee viz., the Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries & Commerce. The Industries Commissioner and Director of Industries & Commerce will consolidate the grievances/problems received and place them before the Review Committee to facilitate early redressal.
