ORDER:
The Science and Technology Entrepreneurs
Parks (STEP) and Technology Business Incubators
(TBIs) are promoted by Department of Science and
Technology, Government of India. The first STEP
as business incubator was promoted in India in
Tiruchirapalli Regional Engineering College as
TREC-STEP. TREC-STEP is taking up a new Design
Innovation Incubator for promoting start-up companies
in IT and IT enabled engineering services area.
This project has been approved by Department of
Science and Government of India and they have sanctioned
in principle, Rs.98 Lakhs for hardware, software
and connectivity. A further sum of Rs.75 lakhs
is required by TREC-STEP for establishing state-of-the-art
building space for the incubator. Tamil Nadu Small
Industries Development Corporation Limited has
approved participation in the Design Innovation
Incubator Project of Trec-Step in its Resolution
No.122 of 197 th Board Meeting held on 27.10.03
and has agreed for contribution not exceeding Rs.25
lakhs.
2. The Managing Director, Tamil
Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation Limited
in his letter read above has requested to sanction
Rs.50.00 lakhs as grant for Design Incubator Project,
TREC-STEP, Trichy at the rate of Rs.25.00 lakhs
per annum for the years 2005-2006 and 2006-2007
and requested to release Rs.25.00 lakhs during
2005-06.
3. The Government have examined
the proposal of Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development
Corporation Limited in para 2 above and have approved
the proposal under Part II Scheme for the year
2005-2006. Accordingly, sanction is hereby accorded
for incurring an expenditure of Rs.25.00 lakh (Rupees
Twenty Five lakhs only) as State Government grant
for the year 2005-06 towards investment in the
Incubator Project of TREC-STEP, Trichirapalli.
4. The expenditure sanctioned
in para 3 above shall be debited to:
"2851-00 Village and Small Industries – 102
Small Scale Industries Scheme in the Tenth Five
Year Plan-II. State Plan. LV Incubator Project
of TREC-STEP – 09 Grants in aid-03 Grants for Specific
Schemes (D.P.Code 2851-00-102-LV-0937)
5. The Industries Commissioner
and Director of Industries and Commerce is authorised
to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in para
3 above to TREC-STEP through Tamil Nadu Small Industries
Development Corporation Limited.
6. This order issues with the
concurrence of Finance Department vide its UO NO.
42221/BPE/05 dated 15.6.2005. (By
