About the Conference
Automotive technology refers to those technologies that are popularly incorporated in various kinds of automobiles. With the changing times, the emergence of advanced technologies is paving the way for more and more sophisticated vehicles.
CII is working closely in the high technology areas of growth on which India has developed considerable expertise over the years and CII has been promoting the R & D aspects of automotive sector for years. With this background Tamil Nadu Technology Development & Promotion Center of CII is organizing 2nd Edition of the one day conference on “Automotive R & D trends 2015” with the theme of Automotive Engineering for CO2, Safety, Systems, communication, End of Life and Sustainability on 23rd October 2009 at Hotel Park Sheraton, Chennai which is automotive hub of India, a metropolitan and the capital of TamilNadu state, is home to a large number of multinational companies. Often called the Detroit of India, Gateway to south India and now turning to be the electronic city of India – Chennai typifies the new, emergent India!
Theme: CO2, End of Life and Sustainability - Fundamentals of safety, electronics and materials in Automotive Engineering"
The objectives of the conference are to facilitate knowledge flow by working with international organizations/ bi-lateral/multi-lateral cooperation mechanism. Know the effects of high technology on automotive industry; Forging partnerships for collaborative research and product development with Indian industry and Interacting with Government to establish policy and standards to accelerate the whole vehicle and components enterprises. The conference shall pave way for collaborative industrial product development, exploring new markets and mutual investment opportunities
The global automotive sector is annually run by market value over 1000 billion dollars producing 66.5 million vehicles. Asian manufacturers are the focus for their low manpower costs and better looked upon in terms of the bid for new industrial development projects. Competitive production is the priority in the developed countries which necessarily turn to R & D capabilities
To cope with this demand we have to focus on solutions for the Indian market, people want safe, yet affordable cars, With the Indian emission norms and safety legislations getting stricter the automotives of tomorrow will have to work more in R & D to best suit the situation. The recent research trend makes it possible for SMEs to reap the benefits of a technology with relatively high trades. However, the recent technologies are not very well known to most of the SME’s, especially those living in the developing countries. It is essential for major key players to promote and bring awareness about the recent trends in R & D in the automotive sector.
This conference will focus on “the latest trends and the developments in the automotive sector. Areas like Clean Automotive Technology, Vehicle safety, development and integrated construction for design system and Engine R & D, transmission system with series topics which include the status and developing trend of design & technology & market in automotive industry.
